DAWN EMERSON
Dawn Emerson is one of those rare artists equally adept at painting a number of subjects, yet her works all share a distinctive attitude, vitality, and presence. From horses and other wildlife to figures and landscapes, Dawn consistently brings out the movement, strength, and mood of her subjects through her dynamic line work and glowing, gem-like color notes. Dawn lives with her husband in the volcanic high-desert plateau of Central Oregon where there is a wealth of animal and landscape material from which to paint. Since becoming a professional in 1996, Dawn has exhibited her work in numerous national and international shows, and she is represented in many fine private collections. A number of art magazines and two books have featured Dawn and her work, including Southwest Artist, International Artist, The Pastel Journal, and The Artist’s Magazine. Her work was featured in the new book by Northlight Publishers titled, “A Painters’ Guide to Design and Composition.” The new book from Northlight Publication called "Pastel Innovations," focuses on an creative use of pastels, mixed media, and printmaking.
