Robert Schlegel has been showing his pen and ink drawings since 1973. His work has been shown in the Portland Art Museum and a variety of galleries throughout the Pacific Northwest. Now based out of Banks, Oregon, he maintains the same unique vision and dedication that he's had for over four decades. His work is as challenging and varied as his materials. Often mixing oils, acrylics, collage pieces, and sketches, Robert’s work develops organically as he allows his vision to form and express itself. The tension between the man-made structures and the grace of the landscape lead to pieces that are balanced and feel naturally grown. To add to the infusion of nature in his work, Robert will often finish his pieces in plein air.
