Kollabs is a collaborative project between artists Luis Garcia Nerey and Anke Schofield. In our work, we create compositions juxtaposing undomesticated animals within domestic and urban enviroments, highlighting the interaction between wildlife and the human experience.
Over the past 15 years we have created works that present an anthropomorphized wilderness that blurs the boundaries between wild and domestic. Through ambiguous narratives, we invite viewers to pause and consider their relationships with nature and one another. It is through this reflection that we hope viewers make connections to the power of nature and within themselves.
Luis Garcia Nerey lives and works in Miami, Florida and Anke Schofield lives and works in Denver, Colorado. We divide our creative time traveling between studios in both Miami and Denver.
